Create a list named as Task Management List from the Task template on a SharePoint site, and keep all fields as default.
Download the trial version of Alert Reminder Boost, and install it to your SharePoint server.
Navigate to the Task Management List prepared above.
On the list ribbon, click Alert Reminder Settings in Settings group.
Click Add new alert item to create a new alert item, specify a unique title for it and select E-Mail in Delivery Method section. Keep other settings as default.
Under Event tab, select Send notification immediately in the When to Send Alerts section. In the Change Type section, select When new items are added option, which means that recipient will receive notification email if any new items are created or added in the list.
Under Message tab, specify user Cynthia Carey (br\Cynthia) as the recipient.
For the recipient, we support various ways to select recipients: Users, SharePoint groups and Active Directory groups; Users represented by Person or Group columns both in the current and external lists; Email addresses contained in the Contact list or Distribution list. You can choose whatever supported as recipient.
Leave other settings as default, and click OK to save settings for the alert item.
Now, let’s create a new item in the list.
Then, the recipient Cynthia Carey will receive a notification email notifying that a new item has been added to the list.
Repeat the first 4 steps in above section.
Under Event tab, in the Change Type section, select When existing items are modified option, which means that recipient will receive notification email if any changes occur on existing items.
Under Message tab, specify user br\james as the recipient.
Leave other settings as default, and click OK to save settings for the alert item.
Now, let’s modify the item “Market Promotion”, change value of %Complete column from 0 to 50, change value of Task Status column from Not Start to In Progress.
Then, the recipient br\james will receive a notification email notifying that the item in the list has been modified, and the changes will be high lightened as show below.
Repeat the first 4 steps in above section.
Under Event tab, in the Change Type section, select When items are deleted option, which means that recipient will receive notification email when any items are deleted from the list.
Under Message tab, specify user br\joseph as the recipient.
Leave other settings as default and click OK to save settings for the alert item.
Now, let’s delete the item “Market Promotion” from the list.
Then, the recipient br\joseph will receive a notification email notifying that an existing item “Market Promotion” has been deleted from the list
